but there are two important factors that may impact how effective it will be:
HAIR COLOR & SKIN TYPE
The laser targets the pigment in the hair in contrast to the pigment in the skin and is therefore most effective on dark hairs in individuals with light skin. A lack of contrast between the skin and hair color may result in a higher chance of damaging the skin, but newer hair removal technology is able to detect the difference between skin and hair so it can work on all skin tones. Laser treatment is less effective for hair colors that do not absorb light well (such as blond, grey, red, and white).
NUMBER OF SESSIONS
Hair growth is cyclical, so you will need multiple sessions of laser hair removal to completely eliminate all the hairs in the targeted area. People undergoing laser treatment typically see beautiful results in 4-8 sessions, with each session spaced 6-8 weeks apart depending on the area and speed of hair regrowth. Your dermatologist will tell you when it is appropriate for your next treatment.
