8 Reasons This Is The Most Romantic Couples Massage In New York City!

It was our anniversary weekend and we decided to fly into New York City for a weekend getaway. We ended up booking a hotel in Midtown Manhattan. My wife loves going to spas and I knew this would be a terrific addition to our anniversary weekend because with all the dining and drinking, a relaxed afternoon made a whole lot of sense.

I Googled, “Couples massage nyc” and a bunch of spas showed up. After diligent research, and I mean really diligent. I picked one that had 4.9 Stars on Google reviews and 5 Stars on Yelp. What really stood out was that they had 1100 reviews on Google and many customers had spoken about their Valentines Couples massage experience. Here is our journey and you will soon see why it was an experience that we will cherish and most certainly go back to.

Besides the fact that the booking process was handled by the most patient and calm human being I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking. Mind you, I don’t know much about spa packages and little about what goes into a scrub. Patiently she guided me to what turned out to be a “Couples Pamper Us Package.”

Here is our couples massage journey on March 4, 2023, a Saturday. I’ll break up the experience into 7 reasons or parts so if you’re considering something similar, it would show or allow you to imagine our experience.

Reason #1: We arrived at 1 PM, as we entered, the first thing they asked us what, “Could you prefer a Champagne or mimosa”. This was literally two minutes into our experience. My wife did not want to drink (the night before was still reeling in her head), she was given a sparkling apple cider and I got the Champagne. They actually had a real 11.5 foot (Yes, I asked) salvaged full boat made into a reception desk. You walk in and you’re greeted with a Champagne or mimosa, that was a beautiful start…

Reason #2: We were ushered into a Serenity Room that felt like you were sitting on a patio of a luxury resort watching crashing waves come ashore. The sounds of water, surrounded by 9-10 foot plants seated in a Cabana in the middle of New York was a surreal experience. We had come for a couples romantic massage, let me tell you, the look on my wife face was one of sheer delight and she gave me a nod of approval. I’ve always (including my wife) have felt that experiences matter much more than material stuff and it did not take a rocket scientist to know this was going to be a pleasant experience. I have no idea why I even wrote this article because no one knows me from a hole in the wall and I’m clearly not a writer. But sometimes you feel compelled to share your experience with those considering something similar. Getting back to the experience, their calming room is very tropical and vibe is very relaxing.

Reason #3: We had arrived 20 minutes early and had a few minutes to kill. There was another surprise waiting for us. They fetched a tray that had seven destination soaps in it. Paris, London, Sicily, Tahiti, Kyoto, Morocco, and Fiji. What you do is you take each soap, and you smell it’s fragrance. And then you pick the three out of the seven you like best and they give it to you as a gift. I thought that was a great way to enhance you olfactory sensory neurons. I picked London and my wife picked Sicily and Morocco. Turns out that 90% of people pick Sicily. I guess we were part of the 90%. Mind you, we had come for a couples massage and facials (that the Pamper me package we picked) and here we were enjoying picking these beautifully crafted destination soaps. I think it’s the little things that matter.

Reason #4: Omg!!! Iwona and Milica were divine. The couples massage was world class. Specially, Iwona, she almost made me cry, in a very good way. I felt like Jello after. The facials were performed by Anna and Maria and they were very good technicians. The service did not disappoint. It was multiple times better than the couples massage we experience on the beach in Bali two years ago.

Reason #5: As soon as our services were over, we were taken back to the Serenity Room where more Champagne flowed. Moments later, they brought a rose to give for my lady. Which was given to me to give to her. What woman is not happy with a romantic gesture of receiving a rose? This is when it got really interesting. They asked me to close my eyes and that my wife was going to give me a gift. Okay! What going on here? I closed my eyes and they handed my wife something and she started laughing. Curious as to what was going on I wanted to see what was going on? She asked me to open my eyes while handing me a red and white mug that read, “I’m Yours, No Returns!” That was just such a fun thing and being a guy and always giving gifts, it was nice to get something so sweet and sentimental.

Reason #6: The RED THRONE. They have this beautiful hand crafted red throne where they make you sit with your loved one and take a photo to remember the occasion. Apparently it was a hand crafted throne made all the way in Texas and driven to New York. I’m sure you can get a couples massage anywhere in New York City, but this was one lasting memory plied on top of another.

Reason #7: Next afternoon we received a text massage of a photo of all their staff holding a blue banner that read, “THANK YOU FOR VISITING US!”

Reason #8: A sense of belongingness. They truly make you feel welcome and cared for. Rare these days.

After our spa experience I said to myself, I don’t know if I was going to get lucky that night, but the spa certainly got me awfully close! Need I say more! Sitting at the airport as I’m writing this, I cannot but reflect on the fact that there are still some places that genuinely care. Of all the things I mentioned, it was Reason #8, the human touch, the kind gestures that gave you a sense of belongingness. We have been to New York City many times and we have had multiple couples massage, however, this one was clearly the best of the best experiences.

Thank you ZZ Day Spa!
